Your Itinerary
Day 1: Barcelona Barcelona (Spain)(Barcelona)

The enchanting city of Barcelona is a visual delight, and has an atmosphere that combines elegance and sophistication with provincial charm. In exploring its streets you'll discover medieval romance in its Gothic quarter and the awe-inspiring delights of the fantastic and sometimes outrageous Art Nouveau architecture of Gaudi and his contemporaries.

The funicular up to Tibidabo, or the cable car up Montjuic, both offer breathtaking views over this attractive city. Its skyline is perhaps most famous for Antoni Gaudi's masterwork, the still incomplete church of the Sagrada Familia, as well as the city's huge Gothic cathedral. The artistic legacy of Barcelona is one of the city's most appealing attributes, with museums containing extensive collections of the works of Miro and Picasso. Barcelona is also a shopper's paradise, with the city's flair for style reflected in its numerous boutiques and markets, open late into the evenings. As the sun sets, and the city's many bars and restaurants open, the night truly comes alive. Dinner is served at any time between nine o'clock and midnight, and the festivities around the bars and nightclubs carry on well into the early hours of the morning.

Barcelona is the commercial centre of the popular holiday region known as the Costa Brava, the northernmost Mediterranean seafront in Spain, as well as the Costa Dorada to the south. The coast is dotted with popular resort towns, many retaining their age-old charm, which can be easily reached from the city.

Day 2: Valencia Valencia (Spain)(Valencia)

Valencia was founded by the ancient Romans in 137 BC and has been pillaged, burned, and besieged numerous times by various conquerors since. But vivacious Valencia has nevertheless sailed into the second millennium as a sophisticated, modern holiday city.

A favoured location for the America's Cup yacht race, Valencia is situated on the Mediterranean coast about four hours south of Barcelona. The city is spread out around its busy port and backed by hills that give way to the plains of Aragon.

Valencia oozes traditional character, particularly in its old town (El Carmen), and has retained its cultural heritage not only in the form of medieval architecture but also in its quirky, exuberant festivals such as the Battle of the Flowers, the fireworks of Fallas, and even one dedicated to tomato-hurling.

The Valencians even have their own language. Interspersed with the old and historic, however, there is much that is new in Valencia, including its major attraction, the seemingly futuristic City of Arts and Sciences, which draws around four million appreciative visitors each year.

Outdoors, it is hard to beat the golden beaches that fan out from the port along the coast, and the sprawling city offers plenty of green parks for strolling, cycling, or simply lolling on a bench to get a breath back after indulging in the vibrant life of the city.

Football is a local passion, and fans should not miss the atmosphere at one of the carnival-like Valencia FC home matches. When night falls, travellers can dine on paella, which originated here, and then hit the town, because Valencia is renowned for its lively collection of bars and clubs.

Day 3: Alicante Alicante (Spain)(Alicante)

Alicante is situated on the east coast of Spain and is the centre of the popular Costa Blanca holiday region. Although Mediterranean in style, Alicante also has an African flavour with women clad in caftans and hawkers selling African carvings along the waterfront and esplanades.

Alicante's historical central district is filled with Baroque buildings, bearing testimony to the city's rich history and former status as a major seaport. The main thoroughfare of the city is the Rambla, lined with palm trees, outdoor cafes and ice-cream parlours serving the unusual local drink called , made with almonds.

There are shops aplenty, parks and gardens, marble-paved plazas, and the broad Explanada d'Espanya encircling the yacht harbour with its mosaic promenade. Visitors come to Alicante mainly for the beaches, particularly San Juan, which is surrounded by attractive villas, hotels, and restaurants.

With a resident population of more than 300,000, the low season doesn't seem to affect Alicante as much as purpose-built holiday resorts such as nearby Benidorm, and no matter what time of year travellers choose to visit, Alicante will be alive with music, food, and entertainment.

With a large variety of bars, nightclubs, and cocktail lounges scattered throughout the resort city, visitors will be hard pressed to name their favourite spot. The bars and clubs near the marina area seem to be the trendiest and are a hive of activity with tourists and young locals.

El Barrio, in Alicante's old quarter, also features some great bars along its narrow streets and party animals looking to dance until the early hours of the morning will be pleased to know that most clubs carry on going until sunrise.

The city has an international airport that makes it the gateway to the nearby package tour resorts such as Benidorm and Torrevieja, and ensures that the city is crowded with tourists during the holiday season. Alicante's energy reaches a peak during the last week of June each year when holiday makers and locals alike throw themselves into celebrating the unrivalled fiesta of Saint Joan.

Day 4: Malaga Málaga (Spain)(Malaga)

Malaga has long been a popular holiday destination for British tourists. Located on the Costa del Sol, along the southern coast of Spain, Malaga enjoys yearly warm weather and sandy beaches perfect for those looking for some relaxation.

Day 5: Cruising the Atlantic Ocean Cruising the Atlantic Ocean(Cruising the Atlantic Ocean)

Day 6: Lanzarote Arrecife, Lanzarote (Spain)(Lanzarote)

The most northeasterly of the Canary Islands, Lanzarote has embraced the tourism boom with a more laidback feel than its popular sister islands of Tenerife and Gran Canaria. Nature is still the biggest attraction on this small volcanic island, which measures only 38 miles (60km) in length and 13 miles (21km) across at its widest point.

Lanzarote's beaches are varied and dramatic, including long stretches of golden sand, some good surf spots, and some rugged, hidden coves. Camels are often used to transport goods and sometimes tourists on this desert-like island, across the dry volcanic ash that covers most of the landscape. UNESCO declared the whole island a Biosphere Reserve in 1993, and visitors exploring the dozens of enchanting and unique spots on the island will soon see why.

Lanzarote's capital, Arrecife, is a small town on the eastern coast, its harbour packed with fishing boats. Although the town itself has little to offer in the way of sights or nightlife, it does have a magnificent beach, El Reducto, which has been granted Blue Flag status by the European Union. A promenade runs along the beachfront around the San Gines lagoon with its fine golden sand and placid waters.

Day 7: Cruising the Atlantic Ocean Cruising the Atlantic Ocean(Cruising the Atlantic Ocean)

Day 12: Antigua Saint John's (Antigua and Barbuda)(Antigua)

Antigua is the largest of the English-speaking Leeward Islands and is usually the first stop for visitors to Antigua and Barbuda. The island boasts a whopping 365 glorious beaches a near-perfect climate and plenty to occupy the visitor. Antigua is home to St John's the island's capital with the magnificently evocative white Baroque towers of St John's Cathedral dominating the city's skyline. Built in 1845 the church is now in its third incarnation as earthquakes in 1683 and in 1745 destroyed the previous structures. The towers are the first sight of Antigua for about half of the island's visitors each year many of whom arrive by boat. With its recently completed cruise ship dock and many hotels St John's is a lively hub for shopping and dining. Most tourist activity is confined to the harbour-front complexes of Heritage Quay a favourite for cruise ship passengers and the more traditional Redcliffe Quay. For those interested in the early history of the island there is the Museum of Antigua and Barbuda housed in the colonial Court House (circa 1750). The museum displays artefacts from the colonial period and from the earlier Arawak settlers who lived on the islands between 35 and 1100 AD. On Friday and Saturday mornings there is a vibrant farmers market on the southern edge of the city where folk crafts colourful tropical fruits and a buzzing crowd make for a lively morning.Antigua's highest point is Boggy's Peak at 1 319 feet (402m) but the island is mostly flat and covered with sugar cane tropical fruit trees palms and exotic flowers. For those tired of lazing on the beach there is sailing diving snorkelling beachcombing and other leisurely pursuits on offer.

Day 13: San Juan San Juan (Puerto Rico) (Puerto Rico)(San Juan)

The capital city of Puerto Rico, San Juan is one of the busiest ports in the Caribbean and home to a third of all Puerto Ricans. Nearly every visitor to the island arrives at San Juan, many on cruise liners. It's one of the largest home-based cruise ports in the world, hosting many vessels with more being added each year.

San Juan is divided into three distinct districts: Old San Juan, the historic walled city; the beach and resort area; and the outlying suburbs. Tourists mainly visit Old San Juan, the site of most restaurants, shops, entertainment venues and some exquisite beaches.

The old city is linked to the new by the largely residential barrio of Puerta de Tierra and a series of modern highways leading to the Condado beachfront, which is reminiscent of Florida's Miami Beach with its high-rise hotels and apartment blocks.

It is not only tourism that keeps the financial mills grinding in San Juan. The city is an important centre for petroleum and sugar refining, brewing and distilling, and the manufacturing of cement, pharmaceuticals, metal products and tobacco products.

In the midst of all the hustle and bustle, there are numerous attractions in San Juan to amuse, entertain and interest many tourists, and the city is a perfect base for exploring the rest of what this small Caribbean island has to offer.

Day 14: Cruising the Atlantic Ocean Cruising the Atlantic Ocean(Cruising the Atlantic Ocean)

Day 16: Miami Miami, Florida (United States)(Miami)

The party and cruise capital of the word, Miami is a bright, brash, playground city that 15.5 million tourists flock to every year. The Roaring Twenties saw this town bloom into a seaside capital, blessed with a legacy of Art Deco architecture, diverse cultures, and natural wonders enough to satisfy any holiday-goer.

Being the gateway to the Caribbean and Latin America, Miami has a large Cuban presence, evident in the vibrant neighbourhood of . Art lovers can meander around the art districts like Wynwood and the Coconut Grove, while others can lounge on the miles of sandy beaches. For families there are kid-friendly attractions like the and Metrozoo. The nightlife is sophisticated and varied. The city also gives easy access to Florida's popular Gold Coast resorts and attractions, as well as the natural wonder of the .

It is no wonder Miami is America's favourite holiday destination and the hub of a vibrant cruise ship industry, its port constantly jammed with sleek passenger liners. North of the city, the miles of beautiful beaches on the Gold Coast are hemmed in by southeast Florida's major tourist towns: Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Pompano Beach, and Palm Beach.

Jacques

A PASSION FOR FRENCH CUISINE

Exquisitely decorated with heirloom antiques, pickled wood furnishings and art from Jacques Pépin’s personal collection, Jacques was modelled after a Parisian bistro. Comfortable and eclectic, the ambiance is pure French, as is the cosmopolitan yet wonderfully embraceable cuisine. Luscious aromas waft from the gleaming show rotisserie, where chicken, duck, pork, beef and veal roasts slowly turn. Each dish is a classic, ingeniously reinterpreted by Master Chef Pépin. Rotisserie roasted chicken falls off the bone, bursting with flavour, while his sea bass fillet pairs exquisitely with beurre blanc.

Red Ginger

BOLD ASIAN CUISINE

With a nod to feng shui, Red Ginger radiates harmony and tranquility. The interior simply glows with ebony woods, ruby red leathers and striking, modern Asian artworks. To complement the stunning decor, Red Ginger’s chefs have created contemporary interpretations of Asian classics. Begin with a salad of spicy roast duck and watermelon with cashews, mint and Thai basil. Savour a Malaysian beef penaeng with coconut rice and paratha roti. Or try Thai vegetable curry with sweet potatoes, aubergine, mushrooms and basil in green curry sauce. In Red Ginger, the gustatory pleasures are as striking as the visual ones.

Polo Grill embodies all the elements of a classic steakhouse, expressing them with timeless reverence. Mindful of tradition, the decor features crisp, white linen tablecloths, dark wood furnishings and supple, high-back, burgundy leather chairs. Each course stands as the very definition of time-honoured favourites, most notably the beef dishes, all of which are certified Black Angus USDA Prime and dry aged to enhance tenderness and flavour. The classic Caesar salad, too, is prepared according to tradition, table-side and with gusto.

Toscana means Tuscan, and just as Tuscan cuisine evolved from rich family traditions, many of our recipes originated with the mothers and grandmothers of our own Italian culinary staff. Presented on elegant, custom-designed Versace china, masterfully prepared dishes exemplify the essence of Tuscany and celebrate Italy’s culinary passion. Perhaps the evening begins with the octopus carpaccio with Champagne vinaigrette or the artichoke and parmesan cheese timbale with black truffle sauce. Classic dishes from other regions of Northern Italy are featured as well, such as the minestrone alla Genovese, lasagna alforno alla Bolognese and osso buco alla Milanese.

La Reserve by Wine Spectator

EPICUREANS & WINE CONNOISSEURS

The most inspired achievements are born of legendary partnerships, and at Oceania Cruises we are proud of our brilliant union with Wine Spectator, the foremost magazine for wine connoisseurs, and our exceptional relationship with France’s premier Champagne house, Moët & Chandon. Along with these illustrious partners, we are pleased to present a variety of differing but equally extraordinary pairing dinners. Developed with Moët & Chandon’s Executive Chef Marco Fadiga, the six-course Dom Pérignon Experience is a spirited Champagne pairing dinner blending playful Dom Pérignon vintages and refreshing gastronomic surprises such as Sakura Tea “Geisha Flower” Ice Cream and Lemon Caviar. The seven-course La Cuisine Bourgeoise wine pairing dinner celebrates the rituals of the table and links masterfully curated wine selections with dishes such as Filet de Boeuf Rôti Richelieu, one of many recipes Oceania Cruises’ Master Chef and Executive Culinary Director Jacques Pépin has enjoyed since his childhood. Coupled with wine seminars and vintage tastings, La Reserve by Wine Spectator is an unabashedly glorious celebration of the pleasures of the palate.

THE DOM PÉRIGNON EXPERIENCE

Champagne defines the most jubilant moments of our lives and in a magnificent stroke of brilliance, we have partnered with France’s esteemed Moët & Chandon to create the Dom Pérignon Experience at La Reserve, an exuberant six-course gustatory indulgence that pairs each course with a special Dom Pérignon vintage. Champagne is effortlessly matched with dishes which are thoughtfully crafted to bring out the nuances of the grapes and the ratio of the blend, playing off every aspect from subtle, effervescent nose to lively, satisfying finish. From Brittany Blue Lobster in Yellow Curry Broth with Coco Foam to Sashimi-Style Seared Wagyu Beef with Sautéed Arugula, Blood Orange-Soya Jus and Caviar Perlita, each beguiling bite is a celebration of the finer things in life. While the Dom Pérignon Experience is the perfect complement to any joyous occasion, it transcends even this lofty role. In true French spirit, it becomes the culinary manifestation of joie de vivre.

In addition to multiple open-seating gourmet restaurants, Marina features memorable food and wine experiences at La Reserve by Wine Spectator as well as the opportunity for private dining at exclusive Privée. From the sparkling Lalique Grand Staircase to the Owner's Suites furnished in Ralph Lauren Home, designer touches are everywhere, highlighting the finest residential design and furnishings.
